Christmas Sandwich – Waitrose ★★★★

I am usually against receiving early Christmas presents, but I had to make an exception when my lovely boyfriend offered to take me shopping to John Lewis for a new laptop. My Macbook Air has recently died and according to Apple is now ‘vintage’ so they are unable to repair it. I have had it since I was 18 though, so I got a good six years out of it which is more than I’ve ever had from any Windows device. It was therefore an easy decision for what to get next. I’m feeling very lucky!

John Lewis had a brilliant deal on where you got a three year guarantee with all Macbooks, so we went to the John Lewis/Waitrose in Horsham, West Sussex. It is a massive three story shop with their own parking. You do have to pay to park, it was £2 for 2 hours but you get that reimbursed if you spend over £10 in store. They have a large cafe on the top floor which I can highly recommend; we had a lovely lunch there which I will write about in another blog post.

When there, I invested in Christmas Sandwich number 3. I love Waitrose food so was really looking forward to trying this!

Price: £3.20

Calories: 446

Main Ingredients: Turkey breast, pork & chestnut stuffing, cranberry, port & orange chutney, mayonnaise, bacon, spinach

Amount of Filling:           ★★★★★

Quality of Ingredients:  ★★★★★

Taste:                                   ★★★

The overall quality of the ingredients is extremely high, as I expected it would be from Waitrose. The spinach adds a little freshness, but I still have yet to be convinced that it has a place in a Christmas sandwich. The chutney is exceptionally fragranced and full of Christmas spices and flavours, which I found a bit too overpowering for my liking.
